Bird's Eye View of North Country Trail

Artist Note: Spruce Grouse are sometimes referred to as “Fool’s Hens”. This is because of there seemingly tame nature that allows humans to approach them very closely. The bird’s origins in the more secluded north did not include many human beings. Unfortunately this lack of experience with humans, makes the bird very trusting. This quirk has made Spruce Grouse rare in the northern states where a few can still be found.
