Electric Blue
The lilac breasted roller is by far one of the most brightly colored birds in Africa. In flight this is even more true. Seeing this shock of blue when the bird takes to the wing is common but to capture it on film is a rarity. Rollers get their name for a loop-de-loop aerial display they sometimes exhibit in flight. This relatively common bird is smaller than a crow but bigger than a robin. they prefer a medium height perch to oversee the open areas of their habitat. - Kim Diment
